Run Your Car on Water Scam

Category: Cars - July 17, 2008

Want to drive yourself a little crazy? Just search the web and try to find out if the ‘run your car on water’ device really works. Good luck!

For those who aren’t familiar with it, the ‘run your car on water’ device separates out the hydrogen from the water to create something called ‘Brown’s gas,’ which fuels your vehicle. Your car still uses gas, but the ‘run your car on water’ device will supposedly make your engine much more efficient.

Well, if you want to find out if you really can run your car on water, let me save you some time and give you a taste of the debate you’ll find on the internet:

PRO: ‘I did my first car test on Sunday with my daughter’s Hyundai Accent 1300. The engine did everything it was supposed to. So we hit the road. WOW-first time out of the box on a 39km test run I got a 47% improvement. I could not have been more pleased.’

CON: ‘I have investigated this notion, and products in great detail. I see a number of mechanical related problems. Having said that, it is possible to do this, however, in most cases, it is a waste of money.’

PRO: ‘My brother-in-law just recently installed one on his old work truck. He says it works great and has reduced his fuel consumption. But he said for newer vehicles it will take some ‘tweaking’.

CON: ‘If the goal of the oil companies was to engage in a conspiracy with automakers so as to ensure the ongoing sales of gasoline, why have Honda and BMW both started selling vehicles that run on pure hydrogen-no gasoline at all?’

PRO: ‘What I do not see is hundreds and thousands of people who have installed it saying it’s bogus. If it was a total scam I would expect an awful lot of complaints from purchasers by now-which there are not.’

CON: ‘A gallon of gas might go further when you supplement it with Brown’s gas, but water doesn’t spontaneously split itself into its component elements. The electrolysis reaction requires energy from your car’s electrical system, so you are using the battery or making your engine work a bit harder to perform the conversion.’

PRO: ‘My 2007 Dodge 4.7 v8 Multi fuel got a 5 mile per gallon boost so far which is about 25%…Hope to see another 10% or more. Still tweaking the system.’

OK, you get the idea. The bottom line is, with gas prices expected to continue their meteoric rise, I think it’s worth considering every alternative. And since these ‘run your car on water’ products provide refunds for unsatisfied customers, I say ‘what have you got to lose?’
