The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rated Nissan Rogue the 2008 Top Safety Pick. In order to receive such an award, a vehicle must earn the highest possible rating in front, side and rear impact tests performed by IIHS. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) also gave Nissan Rogue 5 stars, the highest rating, for side-impact crash safety.

And consumers agree with the experts: Rogue won the AutoPacific 2008 Vehicle Satisfaction Award, Compact Crossover SUV segment, based on a survey that rated Rogue the highest scores in reliability/dependability, fuel economy/mileage, safety features, exterior styling and ‘being fun to drive’. MotorWeek’s annual Drive’s Choice Awards voted 2008 Rogue the choice award for best small utility.
